Final Tight End Big Board

This year, Detroit Lions Draft offers a cumulative ranking for each position.

These are a combination of numerical rankings from founder/editor Jeff Risdon (@JeffRisdon) and Lead Scout Darren Page (@DarrenPage15).

In order to make a ranking, one of the evaluators must have broken down at least three games from the 2013 season, or have enough of a prior background to offer an educated opinion.

Notes:
North Carolina’s Eric Ebron gets the top spot over Texas Tech’s Jace Amaro even though the value is a tie. Ebron wins based on higher overall rating regardless of position.

Oregon TE Colt Lyerla would have ranked no lower than 3rd for Risdon based strictly on on-field merit, but a litany of off-field issues seriously damaged his stock. Google “Risdon + Lyerla” for some leisure reading.

UMass TE Rob Blanchflower did not have enough game tape in ’13 to merit proper evaluation. Based on prior discussions, we felt the need to include him but did not feel comfortable ranking him.

The biggest mover from the beginning of the evaluation process to the end was Crockett Gillmore of Colorado State, who followed a strong finish to the ’13 season with outstanding work at both the Shrine Game and Senior Bowl weeks.
